CEO and Co-Founder of Liven proteins

Fei is the CEO and Co-founder of Liven proteins, a Canadian ingredient company making animal-free, functional protein ingredients to support formulation of sustainable, nutritious and delicious food and beverages. The company is currently focusing on producing animal-free collagen using precision fermentation. Fei has over 10-year research and industry experience in environmental biotechnology. Prior to Liven, Fei was an environmental engineer at Ecometrix creating biotechnology-based solutions for environmental remediation and biodiversity monitoring for the energy and resource industry. Fei has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto. By co-founding Liven, Fei is aspiring to make the food system more sustainable, secure, and circular using biotechnology. Born and raised in China, Fei firmly believes changing the dietary preferences of Chinese consumers is key to the massive impact of the alternative protein industry. Liven is currently working with Dao Foods to lay a solid foundation to get the company ready for soft land in China.
