Alan is an environmentalist, plant-based advocate and social entrepreneur. Originally Mexican, Alan spent most of his time growing up in the United States before moving to Taiwan after receiving his university degree in Philosophy. During his time in Asia, Alan decided to make a career out of his commitment to reverse climate change through food and moved to Berlin in 2019 to join the leading accelerator for plant-based, fermentation-enabled and cultivated food solutions. At the ProVeg Incubator, Alan gained the expertise in the alternative proteins sector to continue maximizing his impact through a startup of his own. In 2021, Libre Foods was born to solve some of the most pressing and persisting problems in our current food system through the brilliance of fungi and fermentation.
