Prof. Dr. Jan Wirsam has been Professor of Operations Management and Innovation Management at the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin since 2015. His teaching and research areas comprise the main focus of his work: Innovation Management, Sustainability and Operations Management. In particular, he focuses on digital innovation, start-ups, business model innovation and alternative food systems. He is mentor within the ProVeg Incubator and advisor to various start-up and impact investors. In his latest research study together with the FERI Cognitive Finance Institute he focus on "Future Trend Alternative Food - Disruption and Transformation of Global Food Systems". The study deals with interdependencies and possible changes of current and new food systems. It analyses the central drivers and mechanisms behind "Alternative Food" and includes interviews with well-known entrepreneurs, investors and decision makers.
