Re-thinking the Food Industry

New Food Conference Berlin

Plant-based eating: taking food system transformation to the next level

The skyrocketing consumer demand for animal-free products has shaken up the global food industry. In 2021, no player in the supply chain will remain unaffected by the growing demand for plant-based food options. It is no longer a question of whether this shift in consumer patterns is going to continue, but how, and what forms these developments will take. Now is the time to prepare for the future by identifying whitespaces and spotting opportunities.

2020 has been a year of an unprecedented global crisis – a crisis closely connected to our animal-based global food system. COVID-19, a zoonotic virus that most likely emerged in animals sold for human consumption and then jumped to humans, is the most recent detrimental consequence of our raising animals for food. More than ever before, we need to rethink our food choices and build back a better, more resilient, healthier, and more sustainable food system.

The plant-based market was already expanding at mind-boggling rates around the world before the crisis and has gained even more momentum in the wake of COVID-19. With the industry realising the need to develop new technologies and partnerships to build better supply chains, the New Food Conference provides the perfect platform to bring experts, thought-leaders, and decisions-makers together. We invite these sector leaders to share their insights and expertise on how to innovate and improve the appeal and quality of products, and create synergies towards building stronger and more resilient supply chains.

Adapting to the new circumstances, the New Food Conference in April 2021 will take place as a hybrid event: in order to provide the benefits of personal meetings, we will host an on-site event in Berlin with key food-industry stakeholders, implementing a strict hygiene regime to ensure everyone’s safety. In parallel, we will create a digital platform to allow people from around the world to join the New Food Conference and connect with each other.

Join us, and be part of tomorrow’s food solutions.
