Amali

Bunter

Head of Sustainability for Lidl Germany

Amali Bunter has worked in food retail sustainability for the last decade and holds the position of Head of Sustainability for Lidl in Germany, one of the largest discount food retailers in Germany. In this role she is responsible for developing the business's sustainability strategy with experts across the business units, thereby helping Lidl's customers to make more sustainable choices through their shopping decisions everyday. Prior to her role in Germany, Amali led the Responsible Sourcing Department at Lidl Great Britain, where she introduced initiatives such as transparent animal welfare and eco-labelling on Lidl's product ranges, set business goals to reduce plastic and packaging and engaged Lidl's key suppliers on sustainability business plans. In 2020 Amali was recognised as one of Edie's 30 Under 30 future sustainability leaders and she remains committed to utilising the scale of responsible businesses to drive sustainable change.
